Derby Doll of the Month / Olive RockNRoll

This month we are honoring wonder woman. No, seriously, WONDER WOMAN. She always has a positive attitude, is always willing to help, and has dedicated herself to this league from the beginning. She is thee best at maintaining close relationships with our sponsors AND made our vendor village the coolest it has ever been. EVER. Plus she loves rock ‘n’ roll. We don’t know anybody more rad than our July Derby Doll of the Month, Olive RockNRoll.

We Asked Olive 6 Questions

1.When did you see your first bout?
About 5 years ago I went to my first Windy City Rollers bout in Chicago. That was my first bout and I’ve been smitten ever since.

2.What is your pre-bout ritual?
Before every game I have to run to keep my anxiety in check. Also lots and lots of hip hop.

3.What was the hardest skill to learn?
I am still desperately trying to master the art of the plow stop.

4.What do your friends and family think about you being such a badass?
My friends and family are very supportive and excited when I talk to them about derby. I am fortunate to be surrounded by fabulous ladies who support me, and my mom is thrilled that someone finally got me to wear protective gear while I’m on my skates.

5.What is your best derby moment?
Derby constantly blows my mind a little bit, but for now I’d say my best “derby moment” is somewhere between getting to skate up in the Doll Factory in LA and selling Demanda Riot an apple juice when they played in our house.

6.If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could have any superpower it would definitely be the ability to teleport. I’d finally be able to travel to all the places I’ve dreamed of and I’d never be late again.
