The 2017 Jantastic Invitational is an eight team, two pool, round robin tournament played across two days in San Diego, California. Click on each teams name to go to their individual page and the 2017 Jantastic roster.
Team My Little Ponies consists of skaters from all over the US who love to skate hard and wear lots of glitter. Returning to Jantastic for a second year in a row, MLP is looking for that glittery 1st place trophy in a three-peat that would make the whole team sparkle!

Team Captain: Blaque Jac
Blaque Jac began her roller derby career in early 2009 and has been playing roller derby for eight years. She started her career in Bradenton, FL and in 2012 transferred to Tampa Roller Derby. She is currently a Skater Athlete for Atlanta Rollergirls. BJ’s goal is always to push herself in training and practicing to her fullest. She is now a proud member of USA ROLLER DERBY.

The RDCL is very proud to send some of their finest skaters from each member league, and to welcome the addition of Southside Roller Derby to this 2017 team. The San Diego Derby Dolls, Los Angeles Derby Dolls, Arizona Derby Dames, and Tilted Thunder Railbirds have come together to promote and grow the sport of banked track roller derby. These leagues are actively responsible for keeping modern banked track roller derby alive and well.
The RDCL is very proud to send some of their finest skaters from each member league and with an addition and warm to welcome the addition of Penn Jersey Roller Derby and Southside Roller Derby to this 2017 team. The number of participants each league received on this team was based on their rankings from BOTBIX. RDCL Champions LADD has 6 skaters; runners-up SDDD has 3; AZDD, TTRB & PJRD each have 2; and Southside has 1.

Team Captain: Slamurai
Slamurai has been skating for San Diego Derby Dolls since 2007 and doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon! The banked track is where she feels at home and where she finds solace from the stresses of everyday life as a psychiatric nurse and part time food server.
“Roller derby has been the only constant in my life for the past 10 years and I’m so grateful to be a part of an organization that fosters confidence, camaraderie, and overall female empowerment. I started playing to get back in shape and what I have found is a worldwide sisterhood.” Slamurai currently skates for the SDDD Wildfires, played and captained the Swarm, and represented Team Japan in the Roller Derby World Cup in 2014.
“I am honored to be able to represent San Diego Derby Dolls in the Jantastic Invitational for the past 2 years and look forward to captaining this upcoming year. I know that everyone on this roster will be an excellent representation of banked track roller derby skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship and we will dominate Jantastic as a cohesive unit. Unit cohesion is a military concept defined as ‘the bonding together of soldiers in such a way as to sustain their will and commitment to each other, the unit , and mission accomplishment, despite combat or mission stress.’ We are ready to fight for banked track!”

RDCL All Stars Co-Captain Biography
Team Captain: STEFCON 1
STEFCON 1 started as a freshmeat skater for the Los Angeles Derby Dolls in December of 2007. #BornOnTheBank #StillSkating
In 2008, she was drafted to the Tough Cookies (home team) and helped them win 3* LADD Championships. STEF has played on the former LADD B-Team, the Aftershockers (2009). She was selected to the A-Team, the L.A. Ri-Ettes, in 2010 where she’s contributed to the team’s top placings at Battle on the Bank. This will be STEF’s 3rd year representing L.A. on the RDCL All-Stars.
STEF plays all positions on the track and can been seen playing flat track on numerous mixed teams. She will be representing Team Philippines in the 2018 Roller Derby World Cup in Manchester, UK (flat track).
In addition to skating, STEF is an active cooperative member holding multiple league positions for the L.A. Derby Dolls.

The Southwest Smackdown is comprised of a mix of flat track and banked track skaters, primarily from Arizona and Southern California. Our mission is to showcase some amazingly talented skaters who are motivated to take on the best that roller derby has to offer. Get ready to see some new and old faces working together to represent the Southwest. These ladies are excited to bring the SMACKDOWN to Jantastic this year, and to lay everything they’ve got out there on the track.

Hella Rude is a veteran skater with the Arizona Derby Dames. She spent most of her childhood participating in competitive artistic roller skating, and has been playing Roller Derby for the last 5 years. Hella is a member of the 2 year undefeated Runaway Brides, and has been a member of the Arizona Derby Dames Hot-Shots for the past 2 seasons. Team Captain: Déjà Déjà Vu
Déjà Déjà Vu has been playing roller derby since 2010. She started with the banked track league Arizona Derby Dames, and played with the HotShots as a jammer and blocker for 3 seasons. She transferred in 2013 to flat track and skates with Arizona Roller Derby’s Tent City Terrors, #35 in the world of WFTDA, as a triple threat! Banked, flat, coed…tell her where to be and she’ll play! RegulateHer has been skating since she was 3. She has figure skated, speed skated, played roller hockey, and now, has been playing roller derby for seven years. She and her husband, Quadfather, helped start up the West Coast Derby Knockouts. After two years, the transfer was made to Los Angeles Derby Dolls to play banked track. After four years of playing for the LA Ri-ettes and The QuadulateHers (Quadfather, RegulateHer & Lil RegulateHer) growing one of the biggest junior derby programs in the region, Reg felt it was time to go back to her true love, flat track. She has now been with Angel City Derby Girls for one year, and for the past 6 months, the QuadulateHers have been building the Angel City Jr Derby (ACJD). Team Colorado Description: Team CO is comprised of skaters from 7 leagues in Colorado. We originally formed in 2014 when we took our team to State Wars. We’ve won first place in State Wars in 2014 and 2015 and we are proud to represent the squarest state in the union.

Fiona skates for the Rocky Mountain Roller Girls and has played derby since 2005. She’s a mother of 3 teenagers and a Colorado native. She also appeared in Season 22 of The Amazing Race and will talk about it at every opportunity. Seriously. It’s all she has.

Team Captain: Brix Barrett
Krisana “Brix” Barrett has been playing Roller Derby since 2010. She has been skating with Denver Roller Derby’s Mile High Club for 5 seasons. She is the head of the decor department and set up team at one of Denver’s hottest night clubs and event centers. When Barrett is not creating sets for work, or skating with DRD, she is spending time with her dog Cricket, cooking delicious food, or hanging in the outdoors.

Team Captain: Bijou Angeli
Bijou has been playing derby almost 11 years. She calls herself a wallflower but she loves to meet new people (she’s just super shy). A badass that’s been staring down a diagnosis of MS and skates anyway. Her life motto: Don’t tell me what to do, I do what I want.
The Rejects were formed in 2008, combining Flat and Banked track skaters. We are fortunate enough to have current WFTDA and RDCL skaters, as well as retired ones. We strike fear in the hearts of our opponents and we are ready to bring it on and off the track!

Killo Kitty is a Hello Kitty loving gangster. She began flashing signs with the LA Derby Dolls, and founded San Fernando Valley Roller Derby, a WFTDA league in the Valley. When she is not rolling with the homies in her lowrider, she can be found coaching juniors and adults to play the sport we all love. She is a beast on the track and a cuddler at afterparties. Wolfpack consists of ladies from several leagues who come together for special events both banked and flat track. One of its proudest highlights include a victory over the LA Derby Dolls at the derby-famous Doll Factory.
