2-Day Roller Derby Training Camp
July 9-10, 2016
This year’s camp will feature a variety of very experienced coaches on banked, flat and the ramp. Every time slot will have activities available for both Rookies (those who have not pass minimum skills) and Advanced (bouting level players).

MORE ON SATURDAY COURSES:
Killer Flat Track Offense: Making a plan using the three easiest offense tactics: Clears and screens, breaking the pack and passing the panty. Initiating, executing and quick changes between those three tactics.
Banked Track Offense: Using the geometry of the banked track to pull off clears and screens, discussion of how to use pack destruction to your advantage in RDCL rules, and passing the panty on the BT. We’ll look at similarities and differences based on track and rules differences, and then we’ll practice until our jammers are scoring effortlessly.
Intro to Banked for Beginners (Part I): Skaters of all backgrounds will take on basic footwork on the banked track, rail kicks, rolling off the track, stopping.
Where are the brakes on these things?: Rookies will work on techniques for precision stopping with speed and control.
Starts & Relays & Dance Party: Sometimes you need to just put your derby training aside and have fun on roller skates! This class will focus on dance parties…. oh and derby starts too.

Intro to Banked for Beginners (Part II): Skates will work in walls, stopping in pairs, and learn techniques of obstructive blocking.
Wait, I can go backwards?: Skaters will practice flat track techniques for offense of the the line, backwards bridging, four square and some defensive techniques to challenge these tactics.
Fancy Feet and Tricky Turns: This rookie class will tackle the techniques of transitions, 180’s, and agility moves.
Confidence: The Art of Faking it Until You Make It: Confidences is a skill you can practice and become more proficient at. Ringer shares stories, tips and tricks in how to become more confident and take your game to the next level.
Fun on Roller Skates: Playing derby is super fun but sometimes you need to just have fun on roller skates! Dance party, shoot the duck and fancy jumps are all ways to have fun on roller skates!
