Roller derby has changed my life in so many ways. This sport has definitely brought out the best in me. I’ve never felt so passionate about anything else and I knew one day I could be as amazing as the ladies I saw at BOTB III, the first roller derby game I saw. I started out as a junior in 2011 and aged out into the adult league in 2014. In that time, I couldn’t even skate at all, I graduated level by level until I reached the junior team, became captain of the junior team, earned MVPs, graduated to the adult league, was drafted on Swarm for home season in the fall of 2014, and now I’ve been drafted onto The Sparks for the 2015 travel season. I am so proud for pushing myself through all the hard work to become the skater I am today. I strive to be an inspiration to other ladies just like they were and are to me. Roller derby has truly saved my soul.
